Job summary

Ochsner seeks a Mobility Technician to assist patients with general mobility tasks as assigned by clinical staff. The role supports mobilization, transport, and functional activities across care teams.

The position requires collaboration with nursing and therapy staff, adherence to mobility protocols, and accurate documentation in EPIC. BLS certification is preferred as part of the team’s safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: none required; 1 year patient care assistant/ nursing assistant in acute care preferred.
• 6 months therapy experience (PT/OT rehab technician) preferred.
• Nursing student with first clinical rotation and licensure pursuit in acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility tasks and activities per clinical staff.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and physicians to support patient mobilization.
• Document patient information and progress in EPIC.
• Inspect and maintain mobility equipment; assist with transport and transfers.
• Support quality and safety efforts and report issues to the team.
