Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Mobility Technician to assist patients with mobility tasks and support clinical staff across care teams. The role involves helping patients with mobility, transporting and transfers, and documenting in EPIC. Preferred candidates have 1 year of patient-care experience and BLS certification.

This position requires adherence to infection control and safety protocols in a hospital setting, with rotating shifts and the potential for on-site work at our Lafayette campus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: Preferred 1 year of Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant work in acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility, transporting, transfers, and ambulation.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy and physicians on mobility needs.
• Document patient information and progress in EPIC.
• Inspect, maintain, and stock equipment related to mobility tasks.
• Support infection control and safety protocols on unit.
