Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Mobility Technician to assist patients with mobility tasks and collaborate with nursing and therapy teams. This role supports patient transfers, ambulation, and activity as directed by clinicians.

Preferred candidates hold a High School diploma and BLS certification, with experience in patient care or rehabilitation settings. The schedule includes rotating 12-hour shifts and weekend work in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous Patient Care Assistant/ Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• Pursuit of medical licensure in acute care may be relevant.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility and transfers, in collaboration with nursing and therapy staff.
• Help with transporting patients and transferring in/out of bed, ambulation, and lifting as directed.
• Document patient information and respond to delegated treatment activities per PMP and EPIC.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, clean/disinfect, and manage supplies.
• Communicate with the interprofessional team about patient progress and safety.
• Support quality and safety targets and participate in data collection for department projects.
