Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of Washington University Medical Center, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate II. This full-time role delivers meals to patients, takes meal orders, and supports dietary needs and allergen considerations.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and ServSafe certification, with training available for new staff. Rotating weekends and holidays apply, with benefits and opportunities within the Food & Nutrition Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Has knowledge of all special/modified diets. Assists patients/families with meal selections by providing guidance based on prescribed diet order and diet/allergen restrictions.
• Reviews tray tickets, assembles meals, delivers meals and retrieves all soiled meal trays from assigned area.
• Monitors galley/floor stock/supplement par levels by calculating inventory for assigned units; rotates stock and ensures proper dating.
• Demonstrates/teaches standard work processes and meal delivery program standards to new staff; provides mentoring and training as needed.
• Communicates meal delivery times, patient diet, and special order requests to nursing staff, production staff, and patients/families.
• Demonstrates safe food handling and infection control; uses basic computer software; performance feedback for training as needed.
