Job summary

Owens, a Friesen Group Company, is seeking an Intake Specialist to serve as the first contact for patients and providers. You will verify information, process medical orders, and enter data into EMR/EHR and CRM systems with accuracy and empathy.

You will review insurance requirements, coordinate with clinical teams, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and DME standards while supporting multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• 1 year experience in healthcare intake, medical office, DME, or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of HCPC codes (preferred).
• Proficient with MS Suite, digital documentation, and multitasking tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for incoming patient and provider requests.
• Gather and verify intake information, documentation, and medical orders.
• Enter accurate data into EMR/EHR, CRM, and order-management systems.
• Review prescriptions, insurance requirements, and compliance documents.
• Coordinate with clinical teams, customer service, and insurance verification.
• Ensure devices and equipment orders meet regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, DME).
• Track order status and follow up as needed.
• Provide compassionate, professional support to patients and partners.
