Overview

Responsibilities include making policy-supported decisions based on confidential financial information to determine qualification for programs like CICP, Charity, or payment arrangements. Verify coverage and authorization for procedures, populate price estimate tools, and communicate with patients, providers, and departments to gather necessary information. Acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, clinics, case management, billing, and community agencies.

  • Ensure accurate electronic documentation of account information and updates in a timely manner.
  • Screen self-pay patients for eligibility for assistance programs or payment plans.
  • Coordinate with Victims Compensation representatives and other agencies for bill payments.
  • Obtain pre-certification and benefits information from insurance providers for patient admissions.
  • Serve as a hospital liaison among insurance companies, case managers, billing, and registration departments.
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality.

This position is 100% remote.

Qualifications
  • 6 months healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding
  • Medical terminology and customer service skills
  • Preferred knowledge of registration, billing, and credit scoring
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR Certification (if required by facility)

Physical requirements include sedentary work, sitting for prolonged periods, with occasional exertion up to 10 lbs.
