Job summary

The ideal candidate has healthcare reception or customer service experience, familiarity with medical terminology, and basic Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience as receptionist or clerk in healthcare environment or one year customer service experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Medical assistant or medical office technician certification preferred.
• Proficient computer skills; basic Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones promptly and route calls to appropriate area/individual.
• Schedule and cancel appointments and tests; prepare patient charts.
• Register patients; ensure demographic and insurance information is accurate.
• Collect co-payments and balances at check-in and time of service at check-out.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and complete required check-in/check-out fields.
