Medical Eyeglass Center (MEC) in Pensacola, FL is seeking a skilled Optician to join our team inside medical offices. You’ll guide patients from selection to fitting, process orders, and help ensure accurate prescriptions while delivering a patient-first experience.

The role combines technical eyewear expertise with strong service, including lab order review, insurance claims, frame inventory, and collaboration with providers and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read prescriptions and fit eyewear
• Excellent customer service and sales skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with ability to maintain records and process orders
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinic staff and providers

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting and adjustments.
• Accurately process and complete orders through MEC’s point-of-sale systems.
• Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, orders, payments, and insurance claims.
• Review and track lab orders to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Submit insurance claims, post payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Dispense prescription and non-prescription eyewear and contact lenses where applicable.
• Assist patients with eyewear adjustments, repairs, and cleaning.
