Medical Eyeglass Center, Inc. seeks a patient-focused Optical Associate to join our team inside medical offices. You will drive an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting and manage orders with MEC’s POS systems.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, maintaining accurate records, handling insurance claims, and supporting clinic staff while keeping displays organized and welcoming for patients.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret spectacle prescriptions (and contact lenses where applicable).
• Experience in eyewear fitting, adjustments, and repairs.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel, email, and insurance portals.
• Detail-oriented with good organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting.
• Process orders through MEC’s point-of-sale systems accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, orders, payments, and claims.
• Review lab orders to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
• Submit insurance claims and follow up on receivables.
• Dispense eyewear and contact lenses where applicable.
• Assist with adjustments, repairs, cleaning, and inventory management.
• Support in-office promotions and marketing materials.
