Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Farr 3 inpatient medical-surgical unit. This per diem day position supports patient flow, admissions coordination, and supply readiness to ensure efficient daily operations and high-quality patient care.

The role requires excellent communication, basic computer skills, and a patient-focused service mindset. Prior healthcare or customer service experience is beneficial, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and adaptability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Prior customer service experience recommended.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow through the unit.
• Coordinates admissions with admitting, nursing staff, and admission facilitator.
• Assists providers and ensures availability of needed supplies.
• Obtains and communicates information for requested tests and procedures.
• Coordinates registration for established protocols.
• Greets and directs patients, families, visitors, and staff.
