Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is seeking a Transfer Center Representative to support hospital-wide patient flow, access, and coordination. The role acts as the central hub for patient movement, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and timely transfer coordination across campuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year general office or customer service experience.
• Proficient keyboarding and accurate data entry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced analytical, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the arrival process by creating accounts for initial intake and monitoring queues for timely registration.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and codes insurance accurately to support timely reimbursement.
• Coordinates bed placement and admission workflows to support patient throughput.
• Manages daily work queues for registration, insurance, transfers and financial clearance.
• Maintains accurate patient accounts with proper billing and documentation.
• Supports interfacility transfers and collaboration with case management for safe transfer processing.
