HCA Healthcare, Inc. seeks an experienced RN Coordinator for mixed shifts to influence patient care through open relationships with managers and involvement in hospital councils and nursing initiatives.

The role coordinates transfer, bed placement, and patient movement within HCA facilities, collaborating with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff to optimize outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN license required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ related clinical experience in an acute care setting (ED or Critical Care preferred).
• RN License in the states where the HCA facilities for that Division are located – multi-state license required if Transfer Center covers more than a single state (may be obtained upon hire).
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital and clinical operations and patient care practices.
• Demonstrated skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, prioritization, negotiation, conflict resolution, proactive decision making.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and electronic formats.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Obtain knowledge of state and national rules and regulations, including EMTALA.
• Must be independent, driven, self-motivated, and passionate with an exceptional work ethic, integrity and presentation skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet searches, and relevant databases.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to follow through on issues.
• Ability to work effectively with other employees and external parties.

Responsabilités

• Performs transfer center functions with centralized patient placement in a timely, customer-centered professional manner.
• Coordinates transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to a final destination facility from all referral sources.
• Facilitates patient throughput with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Works well with others and promotes teamwork.
• Ensures timely bed placement and provides accurate patient information for initial plan of care.
• Maintains data collection in patient records and center workflow systems.
• Proficient in navigating all technology platforms and call/office systems.
• Utilizes critical thinking to assess situations and facilitate patient flow.
• Triages and communicates an accurate clinical presentation to accepting physicians and staff.
• Knowledge of care for patients of all ages and clinical service needs.
• Acts as consultant/mediator for physicians and staff.
• Communicates with referring and receiving facilities about transfers and bed placements.
• Uses problem-solving to optimize patient outcomes and safety.
• Tracks barriers to intake flow and recommends process improvements.
• Participates in daily bed management meetings and resource communication.
• Knows regulatory requirements (EMTALA, ethics, quality initiatives) and implements compliance.
• Recommends process changes for efficient, customer-centered processes.
• Utilizes team members’ experience to ensure best plan of care.
