Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Miami, FL is hiring a Patient Financial Services Specialist II to ensure accurate batch processing and orderly workflow between patient care and data processing.

The role leads PFSS staff, coordinates clerical work, and supports training and problem resolution. The candidate will verify insurance (Medicaid/Medicare), discuss patient account statuses, and manage daily closings with accurate postings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college credits preferred.
• Five years’ experience in health care preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare insurance, collections and setup.
• Must know how to post B&E’s.

Responsibilities

• Complete statistical data and submit daily.
• Plans, supervises and coordinates the work of PFSS staff and clerical staff in various departments.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Answers inquiries from staff regarding needed information.
• Spot check work to ensure prompt workflow to/from Data Processing.
• Ensure decisions align with CHI Policies and billing procedures.
• Make credit decisions regarding admission deposits in problem situations.
• Discuss account status with patients and arrange payments.
• Verify Medicare, Medicaid and other carriers when needed.
• Direct daily closing balance and ensure accurate postings by staff.
• Perform cashier duties and record payments.
• Perform voids/corrections on payments, B&E’s and batches.
• Conduct billing audits for PFSS compliance.
• Provide instruction on correct posting in the system.
• Verify PFSS batches and provide cashier function updates.
• Provide reports to the Director of Finance.
• Maintain professional telephone etiquette at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training and performance improvement.
• Report PFSS and medical coding errors.
• Ensure B&E forms are posted timely and correctly.
• Ensure batches are scanned into Imaging system on time.
• Allocate personnel to cover staff shortages.
• Report to work on time with minimal absenteeism.
• Comply with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
