Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least one year of experience in data entry, billing, medical administration, or related clerical position preferred.
• Healthcare or medical billing experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records, practice management systems, or billing software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographics, insurance information, charges, procedures, payments, adjustments, and other billing data into the systems.
• Review billing documentation for completeness and accuracy before entry or submission.
• Verify patient and insurance information against supporting documentation.
• Identify missing or inconsistent information and follow up with the appropriate department.
• Assist with preparation and submission of insurance claims according to procedures.
• Review claims for basic data-entry errors and correct as needed.
• Enter payments, adjustments, write-offs, and other account updates.
• Maintain organized electronic billing records.
• Scan, upload, and categorize billing documents.
• Assist with reconciling billing reports and discrepancies.
• Monitor work queues and complete tasks within deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with internal departments about missing documentation or billing concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and organizational policies.
