Job summary

Community Health of South Florida Inc. in Marathon, FL seeks a Patient Financial Services Specialist to ensure accurate processing of billing and encounter forms and to coordinate workflow from patient care areas to Data Processing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ICD-9 coding experience preferred.
• Experience with patient services and knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare insurance.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Strong clerical and math skills; able to type 20–30 wpm.
• Good oral and written communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Register new client in Intergy per guidelines issued by Community Health of South Florida.
• Research files for previous enrollment before creating a new medical record number.
• Renew or update existing client profiles as per guidelines.
• Perform financial screening on active clients who have requested services.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and balance daily batches.
• Check-in clients for needed medical services; check-out after services.
• Process patient payments and post data; balance daily batches with accounting.
• Submit daily journal to supervisor and deposits to the Accounting Department.
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality policies; participate in training and performance improvement.
