Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years' admissions, collections experience and requests for verification of benefits in a hospital setting.
• Psychiatric experience preferred.
• Prior experience with online Admission/Billing system desirable.

Responsibilities

• Verifies benefits on each admission and documents billing obligations.
• Provides financial counseling to patients/families about obligations, including private pay agreements, EOBs, co-pays and deductibles.
• Performs upfront collections when appropriate.
• Collects data and compiles reports to monitor upfront collection activity.
• Responds to insurance benefit verification requests to facilitate admission.
• Completes documentation of benefit and eligibility information with accuracy and timeliness.
