Essentia Health is seeking a Financial Counselor to support patients with financial services, including counseling, payment options, and eligibility navigation. This role combines in-person and virtual interactions to help patients understand their options and resolve balances.

The candidate should have 2 years of relevant experience, strong customer service, and familiarity with self-pay processes. Remote work is possible, with weekday daytime hours in a shifting schedule.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Financial Counseling, Self-Pay Collections, Call Center, Billing and/or Health Care.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem solving.
• Familiarity with Medicaid eligibility and financial assistance programs is a plus.

Building Location:Fargo Distribution Serv CenterDepartment:1006100 PATIENT FINANCIAL SVCS - EH SSJob Description:Provides financial counseling to patients for their services at Essentia Health in-person and virtually. Provides assistance with navigating Essentia Health’s payment options, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance programs. May also perform self-pay liability price estimates. In addition, this position performs account analysis to evaluate, develop and implement an action plan to educate guarantors and help resolve their financial responsibilities. This position may also be required to assist with patient phone inquiries from the Patient Financial Services call center.
