Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Financial Counselor to assist patients with payment options, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance. The role supports in-person and virtual counseling, performing self-pay estimates and account analyses to educate guarantors and resolve balances.

Qualifications include 2 years in financial counseling or related areas, strong customer service, and knowledge of billing processes.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Financial Counseling, Self-Pay Collections, Call Center, Billing and/or Health Care.
• Knowledge of registration, coding, insurance billing and payment methodologies.
• Educational background with accounting/business/communications coursework is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counseling for Essentia Health services in-person or virtually.

Building Location:32nd Avenue BuildingDepartment:1006100 PATIENT FINANCIAL SVCS - EH SSJob Description:Provides financial counseling to patients for their services at Essentia Health in-person and virtually. Provides assistance with navigating Essentia Health’s payment options, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance programs. May also perform self-pay liability price estimates. In addition, this position performs account analysis to evaluate, develop and implement an action plan to educate guarantors and help resolve their financial responsibilities. This position may also be required to assist with patient phone inquiries from the Patient Financial Services call center.
