Powers Health is seeking a Patient Financial Services Self-Pay Collector in Indiana to resolve discharged self-pay balances and maximize cash flow for the hospital. The role includes contacting patients, offering payment plans, and verifying Medicaid eligibility to ensure accurate billing.

The ideal candidate will have call center experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Word, Outlook and Excel, with Spanish language ability preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Call center and cash collections experience required.
• Experience in a hospital/medical business office preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance benefits and COB/Medicaid programs preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices.
• Excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, public, co-workers, and professional offices.
• Spanish language ability desired.
• Proficient with PC applications including Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Resolve discharged self-pay account receivables to maximize hospital cash flow.
• Contact patients to resolve balances and offer payment plans.
• Verify Medicaid eligibility and update billing with insurance information.
• Assist with Help Loan Program and Helping Hand options as appropriate.
