Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Patient Financial Representative for a remote role with quarterly in-office meetings. You will support billing, collections, and cash postings for patient accounts.

The role requires at least 2 years in Patient Accounts or related field, with a preference for direct AR experience in healthcare. High school diploma or GED is required, with an associate degree preferred. BayCare offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Required: 2 years of Patient Accounts experience or 2 years in a related field.
• Highly preferred: Direct AR experience in healthcare including patient finance and insurance.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle intermediate-level patient accounting tasks including billing, collections, customer service, and cash applications.
• Respond to patient billing inquiries, post payments and document account activity.
• Apply federal and state guidelines to collections and interpret EOBs.

• Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Status: Full Time (Exempt: No)

Role Overview

Performs intermediate-level patient accounting functions including billing, collections, customer service, and cash applications. Responds to customer billing inquiries, posts payments, and documents patient account activity. Applies federal and state guidelines to collection efforts and interprets Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). Identifies payer-specific trends and implements billing guideline changes. Maintains supplies and tracks equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

Experience

• Required: 2 years of Patient Accounts experience OR: 2 years of experience in a related field
• Highly preferred: Direct accounts receivable (AR) experience in a healthcare setting, including patient finance and insurance.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: Associate degree
