University Health in San Antonio seeks a Patient Financial Services Associate to secure accurate data for insurance verification and financial clearance for admissions. You will interview patients to determine funding source information and coordinate benefits and pre-certifications for hospital and clinic services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Must have six (6) months of financial counseling related experience in a hospital/physician office setting.
• Experience in obtaining insurance benefits, pre-certification and collection of monies is required.
• Knowledge of hospital contracts, in-network vs. out-of-network benefits and negotiations is preferred.
• Basic medical terminology and ICD 9 coding experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Secure and obtain accurate patient data for financial clearance for admission.
• Interview patients to determine funding source information.
• Determine benefit level and coinsurance for hospital and clinic services.
• Perform pre-certification and referral coordination.
• Provide financial counseling and collect copays, coinsurance, and other monies owed by patient.
• Communicate with pay patients about service charges and assist payment arrangements.
• Ensure proper financial clearance for timely reimbursement for services rendered at UH.
