  • High school education required with some postsecondary preferred.
  • Two years experience in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze information, manage multiple responsibilities, and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze patient insurance coverage and benefits for scheduled services to support accurate billing.
  • Obtain prior authorizations, certifications, and other required approvals.
  • Admit, register, and pre-register patients with accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Explain patient bills, balances, and payment expectations to patients.
  • Assist with payment arrangements and financial assistance options for uninsured or underinsured patients.
  • Compile departmental statistics and reports for operational, budgetary, and reporting purposes.
