Job summary

Savista, LLC is seeking an Eligibility Specialist I in Leesburg, FL to advocate for patients and help uninsured or underinsured individuals access financial assistance for medical care.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through government and charity program applications, coordinating with hospital staff and agencies, and maintaining confidential records with HIPAA compliance. This on-site role supports coverage across UF Health Leesburg and nearby locations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year in a customer-facing role, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling.
• Willingness to provide coverage at nearby hospital locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance.
• Guide patients through applications for Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and charity care.
• Act as liaison between patients, hospital staff, and agencies to secure funding.
• Manage multiple cases with priorities to meet deadlines and follow up on applications.
• Clearly communicate obligations, funding options, and program details empathetically.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant, confidential records and accurate documentation.
• Achieve productivity and quality metrics supporting the organization’s financial counseling goals.
• Utilize multiple systems to gather, track, and report patient data.
• Assist with vacancy coverage and complete special projects as assigned.
