Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Knowledge of patient financial services, financial or insurance industry processes typically gained through 1+ years of experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI background disclosure may be required for certain Banner locations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate registration/check-in with data entry and patient intake.
• Verify insurance eligibility, pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations.
• Calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies to patients and families.
• Enter payments and charges, reconcile daily, and balance cash drawer and deposits.
• Schedule office visits and procedures, maximizing reimbursement per payor rules.
• Maintain proactive communication with patients, care teams, and external parties.
• Assist with patient records requests in line with policy and law.
• Provide various patient services to support flow, such as escorting patients or taking history.
