Job summary

Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Financial Counselor II to support comprehensive patient financial services and revenue cycle activities. The role focuses on accurate patient accounting, billing and collections, and insurance verification in a hospital setting.

You will collaborate with the Business Office to ensure smooth operations, review benefits with patients, and drive timely payments while upholding compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in financial counseling or finance
• High school diploma or GED required; BS Accounting preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and various specialized software for healthcare operations

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Business Office Services in ensuring efficient operation of the Business Office
• Handle patient accounting functions including billing and collections
• Verify primary and secondary insurance coverage and explain benefits
• Meet patients to review insurance responsibilities and manage accounts until paid
