Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI is seeking a Financial Counseling Representative to guide patients through their financial responsibilities and available options. You will answer billing questions, review insurance coverage and EOBs, and explain why charges were incurred.

You will assess eligibility for payment assistance programs, help patients with applications, and educate on insurance concepts and coverage effectiveness in a clinic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary education preferred.
• Two years' experience in healthcare service or health insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counseling to help patients understand their financial responsibility and available options.
• Answer billing questions and explain charges to patients.
• Review insurance coverage and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
• Explain denials and provide rationale to patients.
• Review payment plan guidelines and help set up arrangements.
• Identify eligibility for payment assistance programs and assist with applications.
• Educate patients on insurance concepts and how coverage dates affect payments.
