Qualifications

• Advises and counsels admitted patients on financial responsibility and self-payments.
• Maintains collection log and processes payments.
• Assists with FAU (Financial Assistance) application processes.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain necessary financial and insurance information.
• Verifies patients' insurance and collects additional insurance (No Fault, Workers Compensation).
• Performs financial assessment and refers Medicaid cases to the Medicaid Investigator.
• Gathers documentation and assists in completing the FAU application process.
• Assists patients and families in resolving hospital bills and explains payment responsibilities.
• Establishes pro-rated financial obligations and sets up payment arrangements.
• Follows up on scheduled payments by mail and telephone.
• Processes applications for Section 1011, where applicable.
• Keeps daily log of payments collected.
