MIND in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Patient Financial Coordinator for Infusion/Injectables (30 hours/week). The role focuses on patient insurance validation, benefit investigations, and coordinating financial policies and assistance programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the infusion schedule, ensuring accurate intake data, and navigating compliance requirements. Requires an Associate degree and prior infusion intake or prior authorization experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with health insurance guidelines, programs and plans; patient and co-pay assistance programs; Medicare and Medicaid health plans; ability to find new programs to assist patients.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and patient billing procedures.
• Minimum two years infusion intake or prior authorization experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and medication start forms are accurate.
• Validate treatment orders for medication and testing.
• Verify clinical and authorization requirements before treatment.
• Conduct benefit investigations for new patient referrals.
• Identify mandated pharmacy providers if insurance constraints arise.
• Contact new start patients to review financial policy, benefits, copay assistance, and obligations.
• Enroll patients in care support programs and free-drug programs.
• Follow up with patients in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with Infusion Scheduler to initiate first treatment and appointments.
• Communicate intake status to nursing and other departments.
• Suggest documentation to standardize workflow and seek approval.
• Adhere to regulatory compliance and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
