Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) Specialty Care Clinic seeks a Patient Financial Coordinator to support Ryan White eligibility and enrollment into ADAP, HICP, and other financial assistance programs. The role works with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure program compliance and provide benefits counseling.

Responsibilities include processing applications, maintaining CareWare/Data Rx, assisting with Open Enrollment, and coordinating with insurers, pharmacies, and care providers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with 3 years of related experience, or 1 year at a lower level.
  • Experience handling patient eligibility processes and benefit coordination is preferred.
  • Ability to manage documentation and stay compliant with program rules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide benefits counseling and process Ryan White eligibility for ADAP/HICP and related programs.
  • Assist clients with healthcare plan applications during Open Enrollment.
  • Maintain CareWare, Data Rx, and other systems daily to track eligibility and deadlines.
  • Coordinate insurance enrollment, premium payments, co-pays, and changes with carriers and PBMs.
  • Perform data entry in EHRs and other databases; maintain accurate records.
  • Follow up with clients and staff on certification deadlines and renewals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to connect clients to services.

The Specialty Care Clinic is seeking a Patient Financial Coordinator to support activities that determine Ryan White eligibility and enrollment of clients into the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), Health Insurance Continuation Program (HICP) and other forms of financial assistance. Working with a multi-disciplinary team that includes case management and medical providers, the coordinator will process applications and assume responsibility for ensuring compliance with Ryan White program requirements.

  • Provide benefits counseling, obtain and process documents to certify Ryan White eligibility for ADAP/HICP and other patient assistance programs.
  • Assist clients with obtaining and processing healthcare plan applications during Open Enrollment.
  • Maintain and monitor CareWare, Data Rx, and other relevant programs daily, weekly, and monthly to track upcoming eligibility, expiration dates, and patient compliance.
  • Coordinate, monitor, track, and evaluate insurance enrollment, premium payments, co-pays, and changes in benefits with individuals, agencies, health insurance carriers, pharmacies, and the contracted Pharmacy Benefits Manager.
  • Perform data entry and documentation in electronic health records and other databases.
  • Provide timely follow-up and communication with clients and staff on important deadlines for certification and recertification of eligibility documents.
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with case management team to obtain information and refer clients to other services, as appropriate.

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST050) or position equivalent.
