Job summary

Des Moines Orthopaedics is seeking a Financial Counselor to support patients with billing and payment arrangements in our Des Moines office. This full-time role runs 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with a focus on explaining billing, pre-collections, and patient financial concerns.

You will interact with patients by phone and email, help set up payment plans, and work with the billing team to monitor balances and arrangements.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of prior medical insurance/collection experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Financial Counseling to DMOS patients and follow up on account balances.
• Answer patient questions in person and over the phone about insurance benefits and patient responsibility.
• Establish payment plans and assist patients with financial assistance programs.
• Monitor accounts receivable for payment arrangements with billing office.
