Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is seeking a Patient Financial Navigator to assist patients and families in accessing financial resources. You will evaluate uninsured or under-insured patients and determine eligibility for assistance, enrolling in government programs or other aid.

Strong communication skills and healthcare experience are essential. Requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of customer service in healthcare or insurance, CAC within 90 days, and CHAA preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: One year of advanced education or special training.
• Required: 1-2 years customer service experience, preferably in healthcare or insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients and families in accessing financial resources.
• Evaluates financial situations of uninsured or under-insured patients.
• Determines eligibility for financial assistance or payer programs and enrolls in government programs.
• Answers questions about insurance, verifies coverage and eligibility, and provides estimates of financial responsibility.
• Liaisons with Patient Financial Services and Care Management to maximize cash flow and reimbursement, and advocates for the patient.
