AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Financial Counselor to support patient billing and insurance-related processes. The role focuses on accurate up-front estimates, explaining patient financial responsibility, and facilitating payment options while coordinating with clinical teams.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year in consumer access, associat e degree preferred, and strong Excel and HIPAA knowledge. On-site position at Altamonte Springs with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines and learn multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Creates accurate estimates to maximize up-front cash collections and adds collections documentation where required.
• Calculates patients' co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance, providing personalized estimates of financial responsibility prior to service.
• Advises patients of expected costs and collects payments or arranges payment plans.
• Connects patients with financial counseling or Medicaid eligibility vendors and assists with inquiries.
