Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Patient Accounting professional to review census data, counsel on charity programs, and manage Medicaid-related billing tasks. The role supports discharge planning and ensures accurate financial assessments for uninsured or underinsured patients.

Candidates should have at least 1 year in a related role; an Associate degree is preferred, with High School diploma required. CPAS is a plus, and a background in hospital billing is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of position-related experience.
• Associate degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• CPAS certification preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital billing or charity programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review daily census and process cases for patients requesting assistance.
• Counsel patients or representatives on hospital accounts to meet charity/program requirements.
• Identify Medicaid SOC cases and submit to the DCF.
• Identify patients with Medicaid eligibility who have delivered a newborn and add the newborn to the guarantor's Medicaid.
• Maintain patient billing queues and ensure financial assessments are updated and compliant.
• Prepare financial assistance encounters and assist with discharge planning as needed.
