Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Patient & Family Concierge to deliver compassionate service to patients, families, and visitors throughout their hospital stay. The role involves destination coordination, environmental cleaning, patient transport, and supplies management to support high-quality care.

The Concierge will assist with meal service, telehealth setup, and daily care planning while maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring a welcoming experience aligned with UPMC values.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required (or enrollment in HS/GED program).
• Experience in health care or customer service is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families, guides them to destinations, and shares general hospital information while protecting privacy.
• Cleans and maintains patient areas, beds, and equipment per procedures and reports maintenance needs.
• Assists with meals according to diet orders and safety standards.
• Transports patients and equipment between units, maintaining sanitation and logs.
• Sets up telehealth equipment and manages supply rooms and inventory.
• Answers unit phones, responds to call lights, and supports staff to ensure patient care.
• Adheres to infection control and safety protocols; upholds UPMC values.
