Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients, helping create a positive experience while supporting efficient office operations.

You will welcome patients, check in, verify registration and insurance, schedule and confirm appointments, answer phones, collect payments, assist with MyChart, and maintain patient records in a collaborative, mission-driven environment across Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or between ages 15-17 with work permit from high school.
• No licensure required.
• 1–2 years of medical/physician office or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Check patients in and verify registration and insurance information.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
• Partner with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
