Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources, part of DMC Specialty Services Midtown - Urology, seeks a front office medical office assistant to support daily patient flow in a physician practice. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of medical office assistant program preferred.
• Healthcare management/administration certification preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the physician practice.
• Answer office phones, schedule and confirm appointments, reschedule as needed.
• Check in patients, collect demographics, enter data into the system, verify insurance.
• Assist in check-out, referral processing, and scheduling processes.
• Collect co-pays and post charges; manage charge entry and patient balances.
• Distribute information about policies and the practice to patients.
• Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.
