Job summary

Muslim Community and Health Center (MCHC) is expanding to a new site in South Milwaukee and is hiring a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The PSR will handle check-in/out, scheduling, patient communications, and basic billing under supervision.

The role requires strong English skills, 1–2 years of front desk healthcare experience, and familiarity with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with MS Office is required for daily clerical tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality is required.
• 1-2 years of front desk/PSR experience in healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome visitors and patients and direct to staff.
• Handle patient check-in/out, verify demographics and insurance.
• Answer phones and route to appropriate staff.
• Schedule and confirm appointments using the EMR system.
• Manage medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Process billing information, co-pays, and payments.
• Coordinate messages and follow-ups between departments.
• Perform general clerical duties and office tasks.
