Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented patient services representative to join our clinic operations. Under general supervision, you will help keep the clinic running smoothly by checking in and out patients, answering calls, routing inquiries, and entering demographic, insurance and charge data into the system.

You will provide exceptional customer service to patients and staff, support clerical duties related to deposits and revenue, and assist with patient needs in the waiting

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and strong PC skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check in scheduled and add-on patients; route calls and enter demographic, insurance and charge data into the system.
• Check patients out of the clinic and follow up as necessary.
• May perform clerical duties related to collection, deposit and recording of clinic revenue.
• Provide assistance and respond to patient needs within the waiting room; deliver outstanding customer service.
