Geode Health is seeking a driven Practice Assistant to join our Waukesha office and be the friendly first impression for patients. You will support front desk operations, greet patients warmly, and manage scheduling while using Athena EMR to maintain accurate records.

You will help coordinate referrals, payments, and daily workflows to keep the practice running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who values patient care and works well in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of medical office or healthcare experience preferred.
• Mental health or outpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and computer skills.
• Comfortable answering the phone – you will serve our existing patient population.
• A self-starter, go-getter.
• You excel at time management.
• Comfortable learning new technology platforms/systems.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a welcoming and comforting first point of contact for patients and provide exceptional customer service.
• Manage daily schedules, appointment confirmations, cancellations, and waitlists to optimize provider schedules.
• Coordinate patient intake and assist with referrals, authorizations, forms, and follow-up needs; maintain accurate records.
• Collect payments for services and document co-pays, coinsurance, and balances.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and safety procedures.
