Job summary

Aquent is seeking a Patient Admin Specialist to join their healthcare team in California. You will be the front desk anchor, greet patients, manage appointments, verify information, and support clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will handle multi-line calls, navigate EMR systems, coordinate intake, and maintain filing and records while upholding service standards. You must have a HS diploma, medical terminology knowledge, and U.S.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software for administrative tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service, handle multiple priorities, and stay calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based office software and operating systems.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship.
  • W-2 employment only; no C2C or 1099.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients at the front desk and assist with appointment, payment, and schedule inquiries.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, screen calls, and relay messages to clinical staff.
  • Verify necessary authorizations before patient visits to providers.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and providers using reference documents and tools.
  • Collaborate with providers to align scheduling with their preferences and patient needs.
  • Perform administrative tasks and manage information and paging directory databases.
  • Utilize EMR systems to complete daily tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Uphold service standards to enhance patient and staff experiences.
  • Address non-clinical inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Oversee distribution of faxes, mail, and filing of clinic documents.
