Job summary

Copley Hospital is seeking a Patient Engagement Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients at our Waterbury location, with flex to Morrisville. The role involves guiding patients, registering details, collecting co-pays, and coordinating with providers to ensure a smooth outpatient flow.

The position requires strong communication, customer service, and EMR competency, with options for full-time, part-time or per diem shifts and competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Excellent levels of decision making, initiative and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in Windows; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Register and perform Time of Service related duties.
• Explain and obtain patient consents and collect financial paperwork.
• Determine and collect co-payments; issue receipts and balance cash.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient communication; use EMR.
• Coordinate pre-registration information from scheduling offices and confirm appointments.
• Communicate with patients, physicians and staff to ensure smooth workflow.
