Job summary

St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, ME seeks Patient Service Representatives to perform a variety of daily office functions for a multi-physician outpatient practice.

PSRs serve as ambassadors, acting as the liaison between the practices and patients, visitors, and guests, and should consistently display a high level of customer service as the first impression in our facilities. Education: High School Diploma/GED.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience: PSRs must be competent and knowledgeable of duties within the medical office setting, which may include filing, answering the telephone, patient registration, posting payments, charge entry, scheduling, third-party payers requirements, ICD-9 & CPT coding, medical records processing, patient contact, transcription, and assisting other personnel and physicians in all departments as needed.
• Certification: Medical Terminology preferred
• Other Skills Required: HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily office tasks in a multi-physician outpatient practice.
• Serve as liaison between patients and the practice, providing high-level customer service.
• Be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and guests entering the facilities.
