Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, support patient flow, and optimize scheduling across the care team.

You will greet patients, answer calls and emails, verify insurance, enter demographics in the EMR, and prepare charts to ensure a smooth visit. Strong organizational and communication skills, confidentiality, and teamwork with clinical and optical staff are essential for delivering a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EMR.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication focused on patient service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, vendors, and customers; primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, inquiries, and manage email communications.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules.
• Confirm and remind appointments to reduce no-show rates.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics in EMR.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation before visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; allocate balances and support claims.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support retention through recall and reactivation outreach.
• Maintain organized, clean front office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
