Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our Front Desk team in Nashua. You will handle patient registration, scheduling, referrals, and front-desk communications with warmth and professionalism.

This role supports HIPAA compliance, insurance verification, demographics collection, and EPIC workflow updates to ensure accurate patient information and seamless daily operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of reception functions, clinic procedures, and administrative workflows.
• Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, register, check in, and check out patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, provide information, and schedule patient appointments.
• Enter, track, and manage referrals, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Collect, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Process registration forms, consent documentation, and medical records accurately.
• Collect and reconcile patient copayments and maintain accurate daily balancing records.
• Scan, index, and maintain patient documentation.
• Assist with insurance requirements and communicate information appropriately to patients.
• Coordinate interpreter services when needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Stay current with EPIC updates and workflow changes.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and identify safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and colleagues.
• Provide administrative support and coverage for other staff as needed.
