Job summary

Panoramic Health is seeking a Front Office Medical Assistant to handle both administrative and clinical tasks, greeting patients, preparing them for visits, and facilitating an exceptional patient experience in our San Antonio clinic.

You will validate insurance, collect co-pays, enter data into athenaClinicals, perform basic lab tasks, and support the physician with exam room preparation, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and professional communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program is required.
• Current BLS certification is preferred; must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• 1 year of clinical or front-office experience is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic patient data entry into athenaClinicals EHR and use MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Obtains insurance cards, driver's license, authorizations, referrals and other documents and saves them in EMR.
• Performs demographic and insurance validation and explains privacy policies.
• Communicates delays to patients and assists with patient comfort.
• Collects co-pays and balances at check-in and processes batches daily.
• Keeps reception and waiting areas clean and organized.
• Schedules patient appointments per policy and procedures.
• Prepares and administers medications as directed; performs basic labs and EKGs.
• Performs medical histories and provides medication/diet instructions; handles refills as directed.
• Greets patients and answers phones.
• Prepares, cleans and maintains exam/treatment rooms and equipment.
• Performs other duties as required.
