Job summary

NKC Health Heart Care Clinic in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Patient Service Representative to handle front-office duties, patient registration, and billing with a focus on exceptional customer service.

You will collect payments, inform patients of responsibilities, schedule follow-ups, and ensure secure transfer of medical records in a HIPAA-compliant manner. This role supports NKC Health’s mission and operates during day shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a physician’s office or healthcare setting.
• Customer service skills.
• Basic office skills.
• CPT and diagnosis coding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform front office duties focusing on customer service and billing accuracy.
• Complete patient registration and eligibility verification accurately and timely.
• Inform patients of their co-pay/deductible responsibility, collect co-payments and patient balances, and record payments.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate receipt and transfer of patient medical records in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Search for patients using two identifiers to reduce errors and avoid duplicates.
