Job summary

Eastern Nephrology Associates, PLLC seeks a New Bern Operations Full Time Clerical for our New Bern, NC clinic. The role is the first point of contact for patients and ensures accurate demographic and insurance data at every visit.

This on-site position runs Monday–Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch. Duties include greeting patients, scheduling and rescheduling in the EHR, checking in/out, verifying insurance, and coordinating with medical records.

Qualifications

• Two years of related medical clerical experience or a completed medical secretarial program.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• This position is designated as an on-site, patient-facing role with real-time collaboration with providers and secure handling of health data.
• Scheduling and re-scheduling appointments in the EHR.
• Check in/out patients for appointments, lab work, or studies.
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-authorization numbers when required.
• Update clinic schedules and act as point of contact for medical records.
