AEG Vision in Columbia, SC is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our on-site team. You will manage front desk operations, patient flow, and coordination across care teams to ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and attention to detail, with focus on patient-centered service. Collaboration across departments and maintaining confidentiality are essential as you support scheduling, insurance verification, and documentation

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication focused on patient care.
• Collaborative work across teams with strong confidentiality.

Mansioni

• Greet and assist patients at the front desk with a welcoming, professional demeanor.
• Answer calls, manage inquiries, and coordinate emails promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules to reduce cancellations.
• Process appointment confirmations and reminders to minimize no-shows.
• Verify insurance and enter patient data accurately in EMR.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility clearly.
• Prepare charts and documentation before visits for smooth flow.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR and support billing.
• Monitor patient flow and provider schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients to maintain satisfaction.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for seamless transitions.
• Support recall and follow-up for retention and annual visits.
• Maintain a clean, organized front office environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager/Optometrist.
