Job summary

AEG Vision is hiring a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and support patient flow across the care team. You will anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and proactively manage daily schedules to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling inquiries, coordinating appointments, and verifying insurance eligibility. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patient-centered service focus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to proactively identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, inquiries, and emails promptly and professionally.
• Schedule appointments and support provider schedule optimization.
• Send confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and enter patient data in EMR.
• Explain coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation before visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR and reconcile balances.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for retention.
• Maintain organized, clean front desk area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager/Optometrist.
