Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and check-in patients, updates patient demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answers patient calls, relays messages, responds to inquiries, and communicates with referring offices.
• Handles check-out tasks including co-pays, scheduling, and after-visit summaries; documents activities.
• Monitors patient wait times and escalates as needed.
• Opens and routes mail, distributes correspondence, and tracks patient information.
• Requests and handles referrals and medical records for new patient appointments.
• Schedules appointments as directed.
• Maintains cash drawer and processes deposits; completes deposits paperwork.
• Obtains registrations or pre-certifications from insurers as needed.
• Uses job-related software and systems; travel may be required.
